**About the Role**:
Kelvedon and Feering Health Centre has an opportunity for a receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis to provide holiday and sickness cover. Whilst experience is desirable, it is not essential as full training will be given.
There is more to this receptionist role than answering the phone and making appointments. In this essential front-line role at the practice, you will help patients to access the right services, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Greeting and directing all patients;
- Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required;
- Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.;
- Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints;
- Advising patients of practice procedures;
- Registering new patients;
- Answering the telephone, promptly.
- Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner;
- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times;
- Experience of working with the general public is desirable;
- Ability to be sensitive and empathic in distressing situations;
- Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet";
- Strong IT and administration skills.
**About Us**:
We are a small but busy SystmOne practice and have a practice population of approximately 7,600 patients. Our CQC rating is ‘Good’. We have an incredibly supportive administrative/reception team with good management systems in place.
