Cookery Coach

**Calling all cooks and chefs**

We need your culinary expertise to spice up our mealtimes

As with other families, our residential homes staff cook for the children and young people in their care. And just like in other families, they sometimes need some inspiration As a Volunteer Cookery Coach, you will help them create different meals and learn new cooking techniques. From creating lasagna from scratch, cooking delicious curries, or baking comforting pies, you will help them gain the skills they need to be more confident and creative with their cooking.

This will involve putting together recipes / meal plans, advising staff of ingredients needed, and coming into the home to show the staff there how to make the meals in their kitchen.

This is a great opportunity to put your cooking skills to great use while making a difference and gaining experience of teaching and social care. We will provide useful transferable training (eg in safeguarding, data protection, and food hygiene if you don't already have a qualification in that), as well as reimbursing any reasonable out-of-pocket expenses such as travel costs.
