Job Title: Solution Architect
Location: Slough / Hybrid working
**Salary**: £50k-£60k per annum
I am working with a successful Managed Services Provider who are based in Slough and are going through tremendous growth over the next 12-18 months.
They are looking to recruit for a Solution Architect to help the Engineering team move forward into the next exciting stage.
The companies Solutions Architects are technical experts responsible for designing and specifying complex solutions for customers which includes use of infrastructure systems.
The Solutions Architect will be expected to work directly with customers to provide designs, advice, and consultancy on interoperability of all classes of video conferencing systems as well as providing internal support and direction to the Sales and TechnicalSupport Teams.
Solution Architect - Objectives:
- Write high quality, detailed and professional specifications that outline the design of new video conferencing systems and infrastructure services.
- Create technical drawings that detail the solution end to end.
- Provide detailed expert architecture and design advice to the Sales Team and Professional Services Consultants, where necessary attending sales meetings or sales presentations and creating detailed solution specifications
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of Unified Communications across the industry
- Develop a first-class relationship with partners and technology manufacturers to ensure a deep and detailed understanding of their product roadmaps especially in relation to Unified communications.
- Be an advocate for video communications maximising the use of this technology when communicating with customers, partners, and colleagues.
- Develop internal best practice documentation for the use of complex video systems in all its forms especially in relation to Unified Communications.
- When necessary, provide technical assistance and advice to the Technical Support team to help resolve complex video-based problems.
- Ensure technical certifications are maintained in line with New Era Tech’s accreditation and certification programmes.
- Adhere to the company’s published policies and procedures.
- Support the Management Team to ensure that New Era Tech is a widely regarded managed video conferencing and collaboration solutions provider.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in supporting and working with Sales, Product Management, and Technical Support teams within a company
- Demonstrated record of strong customer-facing skills and the ability to build ongoing customer relationships
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to prepare and articulate technology presentations to business and technical users
- Be a self-motivated, revenue and profit focused technical expert
- Ability to develop and present detailed technical documents in support of customer’s RFPs
- Be customer/partner trusted technical adviser
- Enable sales teams to sell full-service offering
- Support RFI/RFP/Bid process - required to possess good technical writing skills
- Support Partner on-boarding process by providing technical support to partner pre-sales and sales teams
- Have provided Sales teams with full technical support including:
- Understanding and documenting customer requirements
- Developing solutions that meets customer requirements
- Developing network diagrams
- Developing proposals
Desired Skills:
- 5+ years applicable work experience in the video or related industry
- Technical / college degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience designing, installing, and maintaining mission-critical IP network and computing systems
- Cisco CCNA Collaboration
- Microsoft 365 certified
- Have a solid understanding of IP networking, including H.323/SIP, firewall ports and policies
- In-depth knowledge in designing IP networks; QoS and CoS
- Good understanding of IP video
- Good working knowledge of video conferencing technologies (infrastructure and endpoints) from major vendors Cisco, Poly, Pexip, Zoom, MS Teams
- Strong working knowledge of VPN/Firewall technologies
- Strong ability to assess and document customer requirements and develop proposals
- Working knowledge of virtualization technologies
- Working knowledge of network management technologies
- Technical drawing skills (Visio/CAD)
