**Job summary**:
This post is part of the RASAF team and will have direct management responsibility for one or more team members. The post holder will work closely with the RASAF team leader for their remit, along with colleagues in Data & Insight, Policy, Finance and Ofsted’s regions, to support planning and delivery.

The primary purpose of the role is to assist the RASAF team leader to:

- produce accurate inspection forecasts for one or more remits in a clear and transparent way.
- select the providers that are due an inspection at the right time to ensure Ofsted meets its statutory and policy commitments and its commitments to other government departments.
- manage a database and/or the risk assessment of providers as part of the selection process and/or produce management information to support delivery of inspections.

**Job description**:
The key responsibilities of the role are outlined below. However, this is an overview of the role and is not exhaustive. Ofsted reserves the right to assign other duties commensurate with the **B1 **grade as required.
- To manage a team, ensuring that it delivers its planned outcomes from the divisional and corporate plans to agreed deadlines and high-quality standards.
- To line manage team members in a positive and proactive way to ensure an efficient and effective service to customers and a well-motivated team.
- To manage the delivery of inspection volumes forecasts for one or more remits.
- To manage the process for developing and updating the risk assessment and selection process, identifying requirements, and new data sources.
- To represent the Risk Assessment, Selection, and Forecasting (RASAF) team and its requirements with Ofsted colleagues and external stakeholders.
- To build good relationships with external data suppliers.
- To build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues in RASAF, the Data & Insight team and with policy makers throughout Ofsted, to ensure efficient delivery of products which meet policy requirements.
- To produce management information to assist inspection delivery.
- To maintain, update and quality assure a database pulling from a wide variety of data sources.

**Technical skills**:
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

- An understanding/awareness of at least one of Ofsted’s inspection and regulatory remits and its objectives. Experience of one or more of the following:forecasting using a wide range of complex factors to estimate future inspection volumes.
- Well-developed technical skills in appropriate programming languages for example in Excel, R and SQL.
- Experience of analysing large and complex sets of data, developing models or tools and identifying the key findings.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in simple, concise and visually engaging ways.
- Evidence of developing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, from different specialisms such as policy, finance, operational delivery teams or external organisations.
- Ability to organise and prioritise their own work, and the work of the team, to deliver a challenging programme of work.
