**Overview of the role**:
As a member of the fast-paced and highly motivated JCB Service operational purchasing team, you will be responsible for an exciting and varied portfolio of suppliers, covering several key commodity areas, ensuring a correct purchasing strategy is in place to efficiently support JCB’s dealers & customers globally.

You will work closely with several cross-functional teams, including the Inventory Team, Customer Service, Technical Service, and Global Warehouse Functions.

The role has several key work-streams, and a large portion of the role operates on SAP, where having the ability to learn new systems quickly is vital, and experience of previously using the system is preferable.

Having a customer-focused mindset is a vital element of this role. If it is important to the customer, it is important to us. These requirements must be at the heart of what you do every day. Being able to respond quickly to requests, providing quotations, setting up new parts and re-sourcing parts to the most effective source will all be critical.

**Your Responsibilities as a Buyer (Maternity Cover)**:

- Ensuring parts are sourced from the best supplier, with the best quality at the best level of value
- Managing dealer enquiries for quotation
- Responding to customer demands, and ensuring parts are available and costed.
- Managing supplier relationships across your area of responsibility
- Mitigating on-costs for JCB Service
- Re-sourcing parts between suppliers
- Introducing new aftermarket suppliers into JCB
- Working with cross-functional teams to deliver the best solution for the customer
- Driving a more resilient supply chain

**About you**:

- Experienced purchasing professional or supply chain experience
- Purchasing accreditations desirable
- Highly motivated
- Experience of leading projects
- Supplier negotiation
- Supply-chain knowledge
- Experience of working with cross-functional teams
- Meticulous and efficient
