Principal / Associate Utilities Consultant

**LOCATION - FLEXIBLE**

Tetra Tech is looking for an experienced utilities consultant to support the growth of our utilities team across the UK, with a focus on business development, client management and technical support. We primarily work for developers and land agents within the highways market, but we assist in providing services on all aspects of utilities.

**The role will include**:

- Develop an overall strategy for growing project portfolios with new and existing clients for the utilities team, alongside other team members, and take a leading role in the implementation of the strategy.
- Be at the forefront of industry legislation, guidance and standards to support clients in making strategic site decisions and to generate new market opportunities.
- Strong commercial awareness - understand the market conditions and our competitors to support the development of new client opportunities.
- Motivation to build and develop business relationships with potential customers.
- Preparation and presentation of project bids and tender submissions.
- Cooperation with other teams within Tetra Tech to support business development and cross-selling.
- Work closely with and support the Utilities team in delivering projects where required, client management and liaison.
- Management of junior staff and ability to lead a team.

**An understanding of the following would be essential to the role**:

- An understanding of customer requirements for utilities in the UK, including potential procurement routes.
- The opportunities and constraints associated with utility infrastructure.
- Gas, electric, potable water and telecoms networks, including associated infrastructure (substation, governors, pumping stations etc.).
- Energy demands and supply requirements of a variety of build types.
- Low carbon alternative solutions, EV charging and trends and advances in the industry.
- Mains diversions and the NRSWA process.
- Disconnections.
- Easements/wayleaves.
