The CEO reports to the Board of Trustees through the Chair and collaborates with trustees, voluntary carers, employees and external stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for setting a clear vision and direction for the organisation and ensuring that it sets and achieves high standards.

Option to work from Harrogate/Bradford/Shipley. You'll be able to travel throughout the West and North Yorkshire regions.

General responsibilities:

- Ensure the organisation meets all regulatory requirements and achieves quality marks such as Investors in People standards
- Builds and maintains effective relationships with commissioners, other third-sector organisations, donors, health and social care providers, partners, unpaid carers, the media and other stakeholders
- Intelligently monitors all political, social, economic and technological developments which might affect unpaid carers and/or services provided by the organisation
- Leads campaigns on unpaid carers' issues
- Builds a financially stable organisation that can deliver its ambitious vision Day to Day duties and responsibilities:

- You'll set out a compelling vision and plans for the organisation in line with the organisation's purpose and values (whilst collaborating with stakeholders)
- Build a strong senior leadership team
- Provide direction and demonstrate confidence in the ability of leaders at all levels
- Drive results through others
- Develop a culture that attracts, supports, empowers and motivates employees - Campaigns and champion unpaid carers
- Create two-way communication between trustees, employees, volunteers and users or services provided
- Build strong partnerships with health and social care commissioners and providers
- Raise awareness of the needs of unpaid carers
- Represent the organisation externally
- Support the Board of Trustees
- Act as Company Secretary for the organisation
- Oversee and ensure strong governance throughout the organisation
- Drive accountability through the planning cycle
- Establish explicit performance standards
- Present regular progress reports and management accounts to trustees
- Identify and mitigate risk
- Ensure the organisation meets all regulatory requirements

What experience will you have to take on this role?
- Proven success as a senior leader in a service-led organisation
- Strategic leadership experience
- Ability to recruit and develop strong teams
- Manage complex budgets
- Develop internal and external relationships
- Previous experience of leading a successful and stable, mid-sized charity/not-for-profit
- An understanding of challenges faced by unpaid carers
- A passion for helping others
- An entrepreneurial outlook with the ability to try new ideas, based on a balanced assessment
- Ability to make tough decisions
- A skilled an passionate communicator - Knowledge and understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Dignity Rights and Human Rights
- Knowledge and experience of the role played by statutory, private and voluntary sectors and the way they operate and of community care issues
- Knowledge and understanding of CQC

Package:

- Salary Guide: 62-67K
- 37-hour week (With the ability to work flexibly and include some evening/weekend work)
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- 42p per mile expenses - Stakeholder pension scheme You'll be Harrogate/Bradford/Shipley based with some travel to other sites in North Yorkshire.
