Art Therapist

The Erith Centre is located on the site of Erith and District Hospital in Erith, Kent. The post is based in the ADAPT team which is a secondary mental health service working with adults in the community who have a range of mental health issues including Anxiety, Depression, Affective disorders, Personality disorders and trauma.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and professional Art Therapist with excellent communication skills to join the team at the Erith Centre. The successful post holder will work as part of the psychological therapies service within the ADAPT team.

Art Therapy is a valued discipline in the Trust and the post holder will be expected to enhance the culture of innovation within the Trust wide and local teams.

The post holder will work with clients from the ADAPT, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating art therapy treatment. You will be expected to assess clients with complex and high risk needs for suitability for Art Therapy and facilitate a treatment program which is flexible and sensitive to the needs of the client group, involving clients in 1:1 and group work, using a variety of art materials in a therapeutic and creative way.

Part of this role is facilitating a Young Adults art therapy group (age 18-24yrs).
