Stranraer, United Kingdom Apex Scotland Full time

Apex Scotland is the leading employment and training organisation specialising in work with people with convictions.

Apex Scotland offers a diverse range of services for young people and adults to help them remove personal barriers to employment and engage in education, employment or community activities. We also work in partnership with many organisations and employers.

We are in to the second year of the exciting New Opportunities project funded through Dumfries and Galloway Community Justice Partnership. The project aims to gather views and opinions of those who are accessing, or have previously engaged with, justice services in Dumfries and Galloway to help improve current services and shape future provision. This post will develop new opportunities for community engagement, personal development and peer support initiatives.

The successful person will receive appropriate support and guidance from a designated co-worker.

For this post you should be able to demonstrate you are ready to take on employment. Have good communications skills, be approachable, compassionate and have a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality. You would need to demonstrate flexibility and the ability to deal with targets as well as an understanding of inclusivity for all. Some travel will be required therefore a driving licence or access to a means of transport would be an advantage. This service is currently funded until March 2024.

In view of the nature of this post and the requirement to work with vulnerable adults, this post holder will be required to join the relevant PVG scheme.
