Role Description

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Technology, the Head of Enterprise Architecture is responsible for the architectural vision, strategy, design and ultimately successful implementation of architectural patterns providing industry-leading solutions to meet the needs of our clients. The role will help foster a strong sense of trust and collaboration between leaders across all domains of Schroders and clearly articulate into practical steps how to deliver against challenging requirements with innovative, ambitious and novel technology solutions.

Underpinned with a culture of complete transparency, you'll work with teams such as Business Architecture, Solution Architecture, Information Security, GT Risk & Enterprise Engineering to galvanise people across all of our value streams. You will be focused on supporting not only our pioneering business stakeholders in realising their technology requirements, but also promoting the effectiveness of our skilled GT colleagues in delivering superior Cloud and Data technology programmes.

You will be able to steer technology direction, providing the company with resilient, performant and adaptable solutions which can be delivered safely using our highly focused Agile teams.

You will help define, and work within the Schroders GT framework enabling the CTO to clearly articulate architectural strategy, providing traceability across all teams working towards a common goal. Your direct input into high and detailed level designs, change delivery, support modelling and vendor management will aid programme delivery across GT.

As a Head of, you will lead the function to support the alignment of business strategies with technical strategies. You will help build an integrated view of the Enterprise using a centralised repository, repeatable approaches and available industry standard techniques. You will oversee the capture of business processes and customer journeys along with the tooling necessary to support a strong and dynamic architecture.
- Communicating the Business and Target Operating model and technology roadmap to business stakeholders and executives, given an awareness of delivery timelines and contractual obligations.
- Providing leadership to our teams of business and solution architects to deliver the agreed strategic and tactical outcomes.
- Understanding business requirements to transform them into tangible technical solutions whilst aligning to the CTO's vision, policies and principles.
- Enabling the delivery of the business process management lifecycle and streamlining processes to improve customer outcomes and reduce costs.
- Collaborating with colleagues across Schroders in order to identify opportunities for new ideas and demands.
- Making sure that architectural standards, system engineering-specific guidelines and usability design standards are adhered to.
- Representing in stakeholder sessions to drive transparency, collaboration and innovation to drive the outcome for the CTO's roadmap.
- Decision making and contributing to key discussions across numerous multi-disciplinary meetings to drive direction and commitment from our teams.

The Team
The Enterprise Technology function supports multiple domains across our business streams and provides centralised design & governance around technology & standards at Schroders.

We recognise that successfully balancing personal and professional commitments brings out the best in our teams and therefore all roles in Global Technology are reviewed for suitability for flexible working arrangements. This specific opportunity it is expected to require 5 days per week with around half your time working on-site.
