**Hours and weeks **37 hours per week, term time only plus 4 weeks (43 weeks per year).
**Actual salary **£27,359 - £29,313 based on 43 weeks (term time only plus 4 weeks)

**Job Purpose**:
The role is based in the secondary academy however the site is split across 2 sites and therefore some travel is necessary in this role (1 mile between sites). There may be opportunity for 1 day per week to be homeworking.
**Responsibilities**:
**HR Advisory Responsibilities**:
- Ensuring all aspects of HR administration, including new starters, leavers, variations, maternity, performance reviews, absence, references etc are produced and paperwork completed and entered into the HR database accurately and on time
- Responding to staff enquiries in a timely manner with correct information, raising issues as appropriate with line leaders
- Providing advice to line leaders on the HR policies and procedures to follow for HR related situations
- Liaising with the Senior HR Officer / HR Director for DLT regarding advice on complex cases and HR quality monitoring
- Preparing and completing the monthly payroll information
- Monitoring fixed term end dates, probationary periods, absence triggers, completion of journey to excellence reviews and taking appropriate action to support managers with the process
- Supporting HR casework with documentation, advice on the process, attendance at meetings for investigations, disciplinary, capabilities, grievances and appeal situations
- Ensuring that all activities are legal and meet government and academy requirements
- Supporting any restructuring or redundancy situations that may arise from time to time
- Contributing to the review and updating of all policies in the HR area
- Maintaining complete confidentiality and work within agreed customer service levels
**Recruitment and Selection - Secondary School**:
Managing the recruitment and selection process for staff, including:
- Preparing and placing of job advertisements via the Trust recruitment system
- Liaising with Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Departments to ensure timely provision of job descriptions and person specifications
- Dealing with recruitment enquiries from internal and external applicants
- Supporting managers with the shortlisting and interview processes and ensuring all documentation is legally compliant and managers have the correct information and equipment. Participate on interview panels where necessary
- Record and retain all recruitment and selection documentation in line with policy and data protection
**Managing the onboarding process for all new starters**:
- Carry out all pre-employment checks promptly in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and provide updates to manager and HR Director
- Draft and send offer letters, contracts of employment and payroll forms promptly
- Maintain and update the single central record for new starters
- Liaise with and support Line Managers in relation to induction to ensure all new employees have a successful first day and induction period
