**Job Vacancy Personal Assistant HS/EO/CCC7 Closing Date 6th April**

Hourly wage: £11.20 per hour

Hours per week: 7 hours

Location: Llanrwst, Conwy

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

I am a young man with moderate learning difficulties. I live in a rural location near Llanrwst and Welsh is my first language.

I am looking for someone with similar interests to myself; I enjoy all things connected to the farming community and like to be out in the country side. I would like someone to accompany me on social outings and activities and support, to help me access local facilities and activities in the community.

I would like someone to accompany me to social activities, such as going to the cinema, walking, swimming, going to a pub, and maybe events in the evenings during the week and possibly shopping or going to a café.

If possible, I would like to work in the farming community and will need assistance and prompting to be able to do this, it’s important to me that whoever supports me takes an active role during any activities, by over-seeing my safety and ability to complete tasks.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential.

**Hours available**

7 hours per week, timetable flexible ; to be discussed

**Duties**

If required, to accompany me on social outings & activities and allow me access to local facilities and support me if needed in activities in the community. This may include going to the cinema, fitness or swimming activities, attending agricultural shows or going to the shops/ café etc., it is important that the PA interacts and take an active role during the activities.

To be aware that I need supervision to ensure my safety, as I’m not aware of danger. To be aware that I walk very slowly when crossing the road and can take time to process any instruction or information especially if in English.

To be aware that I should not be left unsupervised at any time.

To support my independence and help develop life skills outside the home.

To support me to complete tasks ; without overloading me with verbal instructions.

To allow me to experience new opportunities and activities in a safe and controlled manner, with one to one support at all times.

To introduce activities which will enable me to possibly increase my social skills whilst out in the community

To accompany me to get a snack or get a drink, to assist if needed, and to help to use money.

To ensure that due consideration is given to Health & Safety at all times.

To encourage my self-development & feelings of social inclusion. To ensure my needs are met safely.

Any other duties to be discussed and mutually agreed.

To hold a full driving licence & have access to a vehicle. You will be required to use your own vehicle for work purposes. You will be required to prove evidence of insurance for business cover.
