This is a permanent staff role, reporting to the GCAT Facilities and Enterprise Manager and working with the Catering Manager and other Catering Assistant. It is based on an hourly rate, and while minimum hours are guaranteed, some flexibility in availability is a key requirement of the role.

Guaranteed hours:

- Average 20 hours per week (to include some weekends)

Further hours may be required:

- To cover staff holiday and absence
- To support other staff at events and private hires

**Key responsibilities**
- Organising and running the CatStrand kitchen - sole cover required.
- Managing home baking requirements
- Preparing and serving food and refreshments in CatStrand Café
- Preparing and serving food for room hire bookings
- Preparing and serving food at other events as required
- Waiting in the café as required
- Ordering supplies
- Input to menu planning
- Following Environmental Health Officer (EHO) guidelines in line with Food Safety Legislation

**Extra duties**
- Promoting and participating in a positive approach to Health & Safety and appropriate working methods at all times
- Helping to ensure that the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and all relevant Health & Safety legislation are applied effectively to all activities at all times
- Working as an effective team member, contributing to the development of the organisation as a whole
- Ensuring efficient delivery of any other tasks reasonably required.

**Person specification**

This contract would suit someone who is:

- An excellent team-worker
- Experienced in working in a public-facing role.
- Experienced in the catering industry
- Willing and able to work flexibly in terms of hours to suit the requirements of the role (rotas issued monthly)

**Contract arrangements.**
- Permanent staff position with the Glenkens Community and Arts Trust, including pension contributions and holiday allowance.
- £12.00/hour
- Payment through PAYE in monthly arrears.
