The Linen, Laundry and Uniform Team Leader within Logistics Teams plays a vital role in the comfort and safety of our patients by distributing over 2.5 million pieces of clean linen around the hospital site. The role also ensures our theatre teams are provided with scrubs suits to wear to undertake operations as well as ensuring all our nurse teams, junior doctors and consultants are provide with uniforms as they join the trust and replacement uniform when their uniforms become worn. In addition, our linen team also operate our on-site laundry washing our specialist microfibre mops which are used to clean floors across the hospital. It is a dynamic and fast paced job - every day is different and presents new challenges.

The Linen, Laundry & Uniform Team Leader has the day-to-day responsibility for ensuring an efficient and effective high-quality linen, laundry and uniforms service is provided. This also includes the operating of an on-site laundry for the washing and disinfection of microfibre mop, and ordering and issuing staff uniforms.

A key responsibility is to report back on the performance of the contracted laundry contractor for the Trust. This is a large contract and provides all the linen for our patients and scrub suits for theatre staff. This post assists the Deputy Head of Facilities with meetings, discussions, and forward planning regarding our laundry contract.

On occasion the Linen, Laundry and Uniform Team Leader may be required to support other departments in times of emergency or high activity:

- Oversee supervising Waste Porters, printing and issuing collection requests for old equipment and furniture, ensuring rotas are covered and attendance records are maintained.
- Assist the General Portering Supervisors and cover the allocation of tasks using the task management system or assist in the transport of patients on-site.
- Collect and deliver items of equipment to the offsite storage facility
