Leeds East Academy is an over-subscribed 11-16 academy that has recently achieved the title of UK Parliament School of the Year. Role:
You will drive the academy minibus to collect students and transport them to the academy in support of the attendance action plan, or to a venue as pre-arranged by the academy.

You will also ensure that health, safety and safeguarding of students transported in the minibus is of the highest standard.

General duties and responsibilities
- Transport students to the academy in support of the academy attendance strategy
- Support academy trips and visits transporting students to and from events on an ad hoc basis
- Drive the minibus on academy related business only.
- Drive safely and diligently having care for passengers, colleagues, other road users and the vehicle
- Undertake and record specified daily checks, defect reporting and minor maintenance of vehicles, including checking serviceability of tail lifts and other specialist equipment, replenishment of fuel, oils and water, and tyre pressure checks, carrying out all necessary tasks to facilitate the safe and legal use of any vehicle operated in accordance with the academy policies
- Maintain the external cleanliness of the vehicle as required, and ensure the interior is kept in a clean and tidy condition as far as possible which may include sweeping and cleaning of the interior
- Be responsible for ensuring the vehicle has fuel for journeys, and that all receipts for fuel are kept and given to the Academy Finance Assistant
- Drive the vehicle in a way that ensures driving times accord with road traffic regulations and all other appropriate legislation (where necessary paying particular attention to compliance with Domestic or EU Driver Hours regulations, commercial vehicle speed limits and the prevention of overloading).
- Take reasonable steps to ensure the Health and Safety of yourself and others and to ensure that health and safety responsibilities are carried out
- Ensure that all passengers are transported safely and with due care
- Be a consistent positive role model and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues and students
- Any other duties commensurate with the post
