This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the LGBT+ pathway in CAMHS. There will be a focus on Suicide prevention and working closely with operational and clinical leads to support a pathway in CAMHS. This is a fixed term or potentially a secondment opportunity.

You will act in a critical and pivotal role, working with operational and clinical leadership to implement sustainable pathways. This will require the ability to resiliently drive through significant change to support this cohort of children, young people and their families/carers. This will include Clinical Consultation to staff teams and practitioners as well as contributing to clinical pathways.

The role will involve working within the Care Delivery Service with children and young people, their families and carers, Local Authorities, Schools, GPs, Primary Care and other stakeholders to jointly plan and implement service developments, clear operating standards and a comprehensive programme for delivery with a clear focus on quality.

You will be responsible for developing improvement standards and an assurance process with services to support the delivery of improved care. This will involve the review and development of policies and procedures including operational policies where necessary for services.

The LGBT+ Lead for CAMHS and Specialist Services; will consider and work to improve access, engagement and intervention for children, young people and their families and carers where factors relating to sexuality or gender are relevant to the care offered. The role will focus on suicide prevention and feed into the Towards Zero Suicide Board for SPFT to ensure governance and oversight. The post-holder will contribute to service development through learning from incidents and research which are key for quality improvement for LGBT+ young people.
