**We are offering two exciting opportunities for experienced and competent Public Health professionals to join our friendly, impactful, innovative and dynamic public health teams**

This is an exciting opportunity for persons who are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people and reducing health inequalities in Tower Hamlets. You will work as part of one or more life course teams, depending on your preferred role.

We are recruiting to - 2 Public Health Programme Officer roles:
**1. A fixed term 1-year full time opportunity working across two teams**:
Working with the Healthy Environments Team, 3 days per week to ensure the built and natural environment supports good health and wellbeing, particularly for those who have the poorest health outcomes. For example, making sure it is easy and safe to be active; there are plenty of affordable healthy eating options and the homes people live in promote good health.

You will spend the remaining 2 days working with the Healthy Adults Team to support the delivery of a Healthy Workplace initiative that will deliver 4000 CVD mini-health checks in workplaces across Tower Hamlets. The post holder in the Healthy Adults Team will liaise with workplaces and our healthcare delivery partner to ensure quality implementation and progress towards targets. This role will also support the Healthy Workplaces Taskforce, which will oversee the project and develop a broader approach to Healthy Workplaces.

2. **A permanent full-time role working in the Healthy Young Adults Team**:
Working on sexual and reproductive health, mental wellbeing and substance misuse in the Health Young Adults team, to improve the health and wellbeing of young people in Tower Hamlets and reduce health inequalities. You will deliver a programme of work targets at enabling the following aspirations:

- Life skills for health and wellbeing through critical life stages e.g., leaving home, employment, social and sexual relationships, parenthood
- Good emotional health and resilience with foundations for lifelong mental wellbeing
- Positive health habits built into daily life
- Freedom from behaviours harmful to health including tobacco, alcohol and substance misuse
- Good outcomes through early identification of need and access to early help
- Freedom from abuse and neglect

The Officer roles will require the post holders to work with key partners across the public health division, the council and wider partners, which may include: acute health services, primary care (including pharmacy), universities, community and voluntary organisations and businesses.
