This is a community based post and you will work with patients in their own homes, in the local community and, in local residential and nursing care settings, to provide holistic person centred care which is occupationally focussed.

Alongside another Band 7 Occupational Therapist you will line manage and supervise OT registrants and OT support staff and, support the Principal Occupational Therapist with service development and quality improvement in the wider Occupational Therapy Service.

The postholder will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention as part of an MDT in a secondary care mental health service, for a caseload of community patients with complex needs - primarily arising from mental health issues such as mood disorders, psychosis or dementia. The Occupational Therapist works closely with Care Coordinators and contributes to : diagnosis; care and treatment and; risk formulation and risk management.

As well as addressing the needs of the patient the postholder will consider the needs of families and carers and, work collaboratively with care providers/care agencies, local authorities and the third sector.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
