The assistant will provide support in transactional elements of day-to-day managing, processing, and troubleshooting involved in producing accurate and timely financial information. The role is intended provide ad-hoc support to the finance team & support monthly reporting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

**A typical day in your role as an Accounts Assistant will involve**:

- Assisting with financial audits and controls
- Ensuring all timesheets are collected on time for payment
- Calculating and processing payroll for Head office and site
- Updating holiday pay and accrual spreadsheets weekly
- Updating new employees on Sage payroll and adding to cost centres
- Updating suppliers and customers on Sage Accounts
- Inputting invoice data for sales and purchase invoices
- Checking purchasing invoices against relevant orders and matching with delivery notes
- Dealing effectively with queries from customers, suppliers and staff
- Completing general office duties and document control
- Supporting the management accountant with month end duties

**We are looking for someone who has**:

- Good communication skills
- Strong numeracy skills
- Time management skills
- Experience in administering payroll

**It would be desirable if you have the following**:

- Studying towards AAT or equivalent - or - relevant financial academic or work experience, with view to taking on study.
- Experience in using SAGE
- Excel Proficient

The role is full time and it is based at the head office in Sheffield.
