Nursery Practitioner

Havant, United Kingdom The Wendy House Nursery Full time

We are recruiting a nursery practitioner who must hold a level 2 or above qualification in childcare to join our team at The Wendy House Day Nursery.

Our nursery is a private family-run setting offering a homely atmosphere, along with friendly qualified staff with a family feel to us. The nursery is equipped with stimulating equipment and facilities. We are open Monday-Friday, 50 weeks of the year from 7.30am-6:00pm. We are closed bank holidays and two weeks at Christmas.

Staff may have to be reduced during the holidays. This is because some EYE Grant funded children do not attend nursery for that period, therefore we do not always need a full team in. This may be reduced by one or two days, but most of the time your hours stay the same.

If you are successful, your jobs will involve;
- Assisting with the other staff members as directed, in the day to day running of the rooms.
- Daily planning following the EYFS 2021, ensuring all individual needs of each child are met. Including; physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs of each child.
- Tapestry inputting (Child Development Tracking Tool). Knowledge would be useful in this area but not a necessity.
- To provide stimulating and varied activities of play and learning opportunities.
- To ensure the safety and well being of the children at all times.
- To undertake a key worker role with specific children if instructed too and ensure key caring of all key children. To make sure each child is monitored to make sure they are on track in their development.
- Provide a positive role model to all children.
- To ensure daily cleaning of the toys, equipment and facilities are carried out with other team members. To ensure the hygiene and welfare of the children.
- Maintain at all times; a high standard of professional conduct and a child centred approach to the care provided in accordance with the nursery policies, procedures, current legislation, the EYFS, registration requirements and any other guidelines issued by DfE.

Expected start date: As soon as you are able to start.
