As we continue with our exciting Claims transformation, we’re looking for additional Large & Complex Loss Claims Handlers with a proven track record of dealing with claims valued in excess of £1m to join the department.

As a team we are extremely ambitious We are currently on a journey to become one of the premier Large Loss teams in the country. We are passionate about our colleagues and invest heavily in developing our people.

You will be part of our dynamic and forward-thinking team and have very strong technical capability, with a background in large and complex loss motor claims.

We are passionate about providing a real work-life balance and therefore open to flexible working options. You can either be based at one of our office locations combined with partial working from home or be fully home based.

What will you be doing?- Managing your own portfolio of motor injury cases in a pro-active manner and in accordance with the Hastings Philosophy, handling procedures and service levels- Working under agreed authority limits and criteria set by the business- Communicating through various means to bring about the speedy resolution of the claim with our customers, witnesses, insurers, repairers, solicitors, engineers, medical experts, forensic accountants, rehab providers, case managers etc.- Providing coaching, mentoring, training, and act as a referral point and mentor within the Large Loss team- Joining the bi-annual technical forums where we enlist panel lawyers and expert guest speaks, review technical strategy, and have targeted training. Some topics covered include brain and spinal injuries, neuro-psychological testing, court of protection, accident reconstruction and more.- Taking an active role in undertaking various strategic projects to ensure that the department continues to evolve, and we stay a step ahead of industry trends and performance- Continuing to support and embed the company values and policies whilst working to the highest standard

What are we looking for?- Experience within the motor insurance industry in a claims handling role dealing with bodily injury claims of serious severity- Extensive knowledge of handling personal injury claims- Strong indemnity and liability knowledge- Excellent understanding of current legislation and working practices- Ability to problem solve and have a proactive approach to work- Someone who is passionate about a long term career in large loss and ready to join a company who will invest in their technical development- Good IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams - Office 365)- DIP CII qualified (or progress towards) is desirable
