**The Role**:
We are inviting an experienced Molecular Assay Principal Scientist to join our team at the Harwell Innovation and Technology Centre. This position offers a blend of hands-on scientific work and strategic technical influence at an associate director level. You will play a critical role in our Clinical Bioanalytical team, leading genetics assay-based bioanalysis under GLP/GcLP compliance. Your expertise will drive the development and execution of molecular biology assays, including qPCR and ddPCR, supporting our transformative mRNA-based therapeutic pipeline. **Here's What You'll Do**:
Within 3 Months, you will...

Immerse yourself in molecular assay methodologies, focusing on the hands-on execution of molecular biology assays.

Initiate the development of PCR-based GLP/GCLP regulated capabilities, contributing to method development and validation for our clinical programs.

Within 6 Months, you will...

Actively engage in the management of analytical equipment, SOP development, and critical reagent control.

Within 12 Months, you will...

Demonstrate expertise in maintaining GLP/GCLP infrastructure and procedures, upholding excellence in laboratory practices and regulatory compliance.

Anticipate the potential hiring and management of one or two new team members, taking a significant role in their supervision and development, thereby expanding our team's capacity and expertise.

Enhance your role in the team through innovative and effective scientific strategies, contributing significantly to Moderna's mission.

**Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table**:
A Ph.D., or equivalent qualifications and experience, in infectious disease, Immuno-oncology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, or related fields and a minimum of 7+ years of industry biotech/pharmaceutical experience in regulated bioanalysis.

Preferred experience with RNA, biologics, and cell therapy.

Expert knowledge of RT-PCR, digital PCR, RNA sequencing, Simoa, Luminex, and other methodologies for preclinical and clinical assays.

Effective communication skills for conveying scientific concepts and program objectives within a matrix environment.

Comprehensive knowledge of GLP requirements and a keen understanding of current industry trends and regulatory expectations in analytical science.
