PLEASE REFER TO THE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL DUTIES OF THE ROLE. The post holder will be part of Gateshead Talking Therapies Service, which incorporates Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT). They will work with adults who have a range of common mental health problems in primary care using NICE high intensity treatment interventions such as CBT, IPT, EMDR, CAT, Counselling for Depression. They will use traditional and innovative treatment methods.

Will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities To meet targets set nationally and locally for access, recovery and waiting times Post graduate qualification in recognised High Intensity Therapy (e.g. CBT, IPT, EMDR, CAT, Counselling for Depression) Significant experience of working to support the mental health needs of adults and families Experience of working within a community context Ability to complete mental health assessments and plan, implement and evaluate specialist packages of care Experience of supervision and possible management of junior staff Ability to engage vulnerable and hard to reach groups Knowledge and experience of safeguarding Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Excellent time and caseload management Good IT skills
