Croydon is a dynamic and developing Borough keen to ensure that the needs of the community with special educational needs and/or disabilities are effectively and successfully supported and delivered.

As an Early Years Inclusion Coordinator the post holder will provide support and challenge to a range of early year’s providers including full daycare, pre-schools and childminders to promote equality and inclusion for children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). You will need experience of supporting education settings and in particular strong working knowledge and skills of supporting children with additional needs.

The post holder will provide advice, guidance and support to empower Early Years SENCOs and practitioners to identify children’s needs early. You will ensure children are fully included and able to realise their potential and achieve their aspirations following a graduated approach in line with the SEN Code of practice. You will be expected to deliver training, complete visits to settings, offer advice and guidance to providers regarding strategies, SEND processes, SENIF funding and EHCP processes. You will be focusing on improving early identification in the early years sector, ensuring children get their needs met at the earliest possible stage in life.

The Early Years SEND Team work with a range of multi-agency partners and stakeholders, therefore, the postholder will be expected to support a coordinated approach to ensure children’s needs are met at the earliest possible time and can access the EYFS curriculum.

The team act as mentors and positive role models to settings in Croydon. The post holder will be allocated a specific geographic area although will be expected to travel throughout the borough as and when needed to support the local authority to meet its statutory duties. Some flexibility to attend evening/weekend training and meetings will be required.

There are 2 posts. One with an immediate start date or as soon as practicable and the other with a start date of early September 2024.

- Full time, permanent all year round, 36 hrs p/w
