**Salary**: £90 - £110

Leader Education is currently recruiting for multiple **_Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) _**to work with **_SEND_** students for an **A_utism Resource_ Unit** in a mainstream school in **_Wakefield_**.

**The job**:

- Provide support to students with _SEND_ needs in a small group or 1-1 setting
- Lead 1-2-1 lessons and intervention sessions
- Understand and follow _EHCPs_
- To take direction and assist the class teacher
- Help and allow students develop their own voice
- Ensure the best quality of education for each pupil
- Provide a safe, stimulating, happy and friendly environment
- Engage with the students throughout their learning whilst in the classroom
- Create and maintain supportive and calming relationships with the students
- Liaising with SENCO and the designated safeguarding lead to promote positive outcomes.

**You**:

- Have experience of working with children/students with _SEND_ needs
- Are knowledgeable, dedicated, and passionate
- Are understanding and have empathy
- Have a passion for teaching and learning
- Ability to make learning enjoyable and fun
- Experience of moving and handling would be beneficial but not essential
- Ideally Team Teach trained but not essential - _free training is available_
- Are motivated and enthusiastic
- Have great communication skills
- Have a fun but firm presence.
