**About The Role**

We are looking for an experienced and pro-active Accommodation Support Officer to join the Housing Options Team on a Fixed Term Contract to end on 31 March 2025.

The role is advertised as Band 5 £27,334 - £29,777 pending full job evaluation.

As an Accommodation Support Officer the focus of your role will be to support and empower individuals to successfully manage their stay in transitional housing scheme or temporary accommodation, using your knowledge and skills to ensure they are ready to move on to the most appropriate accommodation route tailored to the individual’s needs.

You will be working across the Housing Options Department not only supporting people to gain the skills to live independently but also ensuring our accommodation is maintained to a high standard and any issues are reported and dealt with in an efficient manner. This will be a varied role and no two days will be the same.

This role requires a satisfactory basic disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

**About You**
- Experience of working with individuals who have a history of Homelessness or Rough Sleeping
- Experience of building trust and rapport with clients/individuals.
- Active listening skills, ability to communicate and negotiate clearly, explaining complex ideas simply and clearly.
- Experience of building trust and rapport with clients/individuals.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations, work under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
- The ability to be empathetic, approachable, and supportive. Always maintaining a non-judgemental attitude.
- A good standard of education including in English and Maths.
- An understanding and knowledge of:

- i. Drug and Alcohol Misuse, ii. Safeguarding requirements,iii. Tenancy and Property Management
