**Job Description: Learning mentor KS4**

**Responsible to**: Heads of Year and Assistant Headteacher

**Job overview**

To assist in maintaining the high standards of achievement and behaviour of students in key stage 4, by working with individual students to overcome barriers to learning and raise their expectations and aspirations.

**Key tasks and responsibilities**
- Work cooperatively with other members of the Pastoral Team
- Work with individual students to overcome barriers to learning and thereby assist them in achieving their full potential. To include:

- Helping them to develop independent learning strategies and to work collaboratively with others
- Using strategies to help individual students to improve their behaviour
- Identifying, celebrating and communicating areas of success for groups of students and individuals
- Liaise with external agencies, parents and carers to ensure ongoing positive support for individual students.
- Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of young people with regard to the School’s Safeguarding procedures.
- Work with the Pastoral Team in helping to support students with poor attendance, including meeting with the EWO.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of meetings and action plans.
- Assist in the administration of the Schools behaviour recording system.
- Undertake any appropriate professional development or training
- Undertake any duties as may reasonably be required by the SchoolLeadership Team

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 31 per week

**Salary**: £14,681.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Eye, IP23 7BL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
