The post holder is responsible for providing a full administrative service for the Anaesthetics Specialty Lead, other Consultant anaesthetists and team members, and to play an integral part in the smooth running of the Anaesthetic service incorporating the weekly production and distribution of the Anaesthetic team rota to enhance the patients’ experience through the Trust

Co-ordination of Medical Staffing

Support the Lead Clinician with various aspects of Medical Staffing as required: Recruitment; Occupational Health, HR

Provide HR with paperwork and budget agreement for ET panel with regard to medical staffing requirements and appointments to the department. Assist in the arrangements of pre-interview visits and interview processes.

Organise appraisals with Senior Anaesthetists for the Lead Clinician, checking his diary and the Anaesthetists availability, ensuring suitable arrangements are made and booking suitable facilities.

Provide monthly figures to finance of overtime spend in respect of Locum, Trauma and 18 week sessions.

Arrange mandatory and corporate Induction programmes for new Senior Anaesthetists, typing up necessary paperwork.

Alert and organise junior staff assessments at the appropriate time, liaising with Tutors. Co-ordinate Blocks and integrate into Rota to ensure conformance to Deanery standards.

To compile monthly manpower returns for the department and send to Payroll.

Maintain medical staff annual leave, study leave and sickness records with the use of spreadsheets and electronic Rota.
