Assistant Greenkeeper

Established in 1907, the Vale of Leven Golf Club is a privately owned 18 hole golf club. The

course is a mixture of parkland and heathland holes, that takes advantage of the natural

challenges and hazards offered by its countryside location.

We are seeking an Assistant Greenkeeper to join our hard working team. We are looking for

a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who will work closely alongside our current

Greenkeeping team. Ideally, you will have around 3 years previous greenkeeping

- To maintain the golf course to the highest possible standard (tasks include setting up

the golf course for daily play, cutting all playing surfaces, changing holes, raking

bunkers, divoting tees and fairways and fly mowing/ strimming. Winter maintenance

will be required and based on our Winter maintenance plan)
- To work in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to work independently and carry out manual work
- Prepare and maintain machinery

The following skills and experiences are desirable but not essential:

- 3 years’ experience
- Qualified to SVQ Level 3, or equivalent
- PA1, PA2 & PA6 spraying qualifications
- Basic Health & Safety knowledge
- Basic knowledge of machinery and maintenance practices
- Ability to work well with others and on your own
- Confident in the use of hand, and ride on mowers
- Have a proactive, positive inclination and good attitude to working with others
- Flexibility, due to the demands of weekend working and start times
- Excellent time management
- Full UK Driving licence
