**About the role**:
This Primary and Secondary SEND Alternative Provision, based in South Shields has two sites and is looking to appoint a passionate **Learning Support Mentor **to work in either Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this Primary and Secondary SEND Alternative Provision as part of an established team, the desired **Learning Support Mentor **will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviour. This full time **Learning Support Mentor **role is long term from March ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.
**About the school**:
The school is a fully inclusive place of learning which ensures that all pupils achieve their potential personally, socially, emotionally, physically and educationally. The school teaches basic skills to become successful and confident learners by delivering a personalised learning programme which will equip pupils to become responsible citizens. The school is a short-stay provision which provides placements according to the individual needs.
**Requirements**:
To be considered for the role of Learning Support Mentor you will:
- Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children.
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND
- A passion for the progress of SEND primary and secondary school pupils
- An ability to work as part of a team
- An ability to work in a fast paced challenging situations
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
