Junior Execution Trader

A leading systematic hedge fund manager in London is currently seeking a Junior Execution Trader.

**Key responsibilities**
- Execution of FX and futures trades
- To minimise transaction costs and use trading metrics to improve execution performance
- Monitor market liquidity, positions, rolls and exposures
- Ad-hoc duties such as P&L reporting and monitoring global news events and data releases
- Understand the "big picture", the implications of actions on others, compliance issues etc
- Preserving the confidentiality of pre-trade information both internally and externally
- Monitoring local holidays in traded markets; and
- Close of business tasks and end of day procedures

In addition, there will be longer term project work as the role develops.

**Skills, experience, and qualifications**
- Quick learner with solid problem solving and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg
- Understanding of Order Management and Execution Management Systems
- Familiarity with the mechanics of FX and futures markets
- STEM, Finance or Economics graduate from a top university
- Previous directly relevant experience - at least 1 year of trading desk experience

**Nice to have**
- Previous exposure to systematic strategies
- Ideally a good proficiency in VBA & R
- Currently or previously approved to perform the CDF function pursuant to the FCA’s conduct rules
- Any relevant professional qualifications
