Auction Porter

Shouler & Son have been selling antiques, household furniture and sundry effects in our auction rooms at Melton Mowbray for over 100 years.

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our busy auction room team as an Auction Porter.

**Responsibilities**

As Auction Porter you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of our auction room ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of all auction lots such as artwork, antiques, furniture and other valuable items.

You will be assisting the Auction Manager in setting up for each monthly sale, picking and packing lots for collection and delivery, lotting up items for sale and other tasks as and when are required.
- Good time management and multi-tasking.

Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to lift heavy items (with assistance).

Be willing to learn and take direction.

Confident in dealing with the public over the telephone and face to face.

IT literate with basic computer skills.

**Hours of work**

Full time Monday to Friday 08.45am to 17.00pm (one late evening a month on sale/viewing day).

Two Saturdays per month 9am - 12 noon.

Pay: Up to £22,000.00 per year
