This role is a brand new role into our clients structure due to departmental restructure. It's Fixed-term for 9 months, but highly likely to be extended / go permanent.

Hybrid working model - 3 days office, 2 days home working but is flexible

Scantec Recruitment are working with a leading FMCG Manufacturing business in South Lanarkshire to find a Financial Accounting Lead. The key purpose of this role is to lead the Accounts Payable function across the Manufacturing and Head Office Divisions, which are all within the local region.

**Brief summary of core role responsibilities**:

- Ensure all key tasks within the Accounts Payable remit are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Line management of 4 direct reports - completing bi-annual appraisals, one-to-ones and training and ensuring sufficient holiday cover is in place
- Ownership of month end balance sheet reconciliations within the Accounts Payable remit
- Lead the investigation and resolution of invoice queries as and when escalated by the AP administrators
- Manage the weekly payment run process for 4 entities
- Ultimate responsibility for employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policy
- Work with the Financial Controller to identify areas where processes could be further improved and aligned across the group
- Support the Financial Controller with the completion of internal and external audit queries
- Investigate and escalate as appropriate any issues with the invoice approval system
- Assist with any other ad hoc duties specified by the Financial Controller

**Skills and Experience required**:

- Previous experience in a senior Accounts Payable role
- Experience with accounting software and/or integrated ERP systems
- Experience of managing high volume data entry/processing in a fast paced environment
- Organisation - able to prioritise and plan workload effectively and in line with department deadlines
- IT literate with a high-level competence in MS Office programmes - particularly Excel and Outlook
