**Scope of role**

Based in Newry, this is a full-time permanent role in the Operations Team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing, the SHEQ Officer will have responsibility for the safety, health, environment, compliance, and quality assurance side of the business.

They will manage and monitor standards, processes, training, and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within Kingspan are adhered to.

They will co-ordinate work systems to ensure that the products and services of the company meet the highest quality standards.

Provide ongoing environmental guidance and support to all functions of the business.

Be experienced in assessing demanding situations, identifying issues, and developing solutions that result in efficiencies, process and/or health & safety improvements. They must demonstrate a leadership and have to work with a sense of urgency, prioritise work, and meet objectives /deadlines with strong organisational capability.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Update and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 45001 standards.
- Investigate all Accidents / Incidents/ Near Misses ensuring corrective action is taken and documentation updated
- Implement any new legislation relating to Health and Safety
- Facilitate all forms of risk assessment - Manual Handling, Fire Risk Assessments / Fire Prevention, COSHH
- Occupational Health and Safety surveys - Styrene, dust, noise, light, chemical substances
- Ensure all employees receive suitable and required environmental, health and safety training (including new employee induction training) in order to maintain compliance with both the company and legislative requirements
- Ensure First Aid and Fire Warden refresher training is carried out within the set time period.
- Organize Health Surveillance for all production staff on a bi-yearly basis.
- Carry out site health and safety inspections and audits highlighting and rectifying poor housekeeping, chemical storage, and use of PPE.
- Attend monthly Health and Safety and security conference call.
- Provide data and information for monthly Health and Safety Divisional reports.
- Perform regular checks on First Aid kits, Eye Wash stations, Spill Kits, Defibrillator, and update registers accordingly.
- Provide HSE and compliance advice and support to the business
- Chair monthly Health and Safety meetings and provide documented minutes to the Operations Manager.
- Co-ordinate and implement a positive safety culture across the business
- Prepare and undertake regular Toolbox talks
- Manage on-site audits conducted by external providers.
- Devise and improve the Training and Competency matrix for all staff.
- Evaluate and proactively improve techniques for the control of environment, and health and safety
- Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems.
- Monitor testing & inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality.
- Investigate and report on non-conforming products produced and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Investigate and report on scrappage and implement corrective actions.
- Provide guidance to the Quality Inspector.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.
- Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure the Calibration register is maintained, and equipment calibrated annually.
- Produce Manufacturing Procedures for all products manufactured in Newry and Aston Clinton.
- Organize the uplift of Hazardous Waste including plastic and metal.
- Perform daily Environmental checks in line with ISO 14001.
- Upload information on a monthly basis to Accuvio Sustainability software system.
- Perform projects relating to energy efficiency/ on site renewable energy generation.

Travel to our sister site in Aylesbury when needed for SHEQ meetings.

- Qualification_
- General NEBOSH certificate
- Internal Auditor
- Experience & Knowledge_
- Experience of ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of HSEQ generalist skills
- Risk Management
- Company preparation for audits
- Compliance and maintenance of relevant standards

- Renewable energy efficiency
- Abilities and Skills_
- Have excellent IT Skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Management experience is preferable

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
