Are you passionate about sharing stories and educating others in the area of conservation? We are looking for a **Conservation Education Ranger** to ensure that every guest has a memorable experience and leaves informed about our ambition to actively contribute to species survival as part of our 2030 strategy. Reporting to the Conservation Education Team Leader you will deliver all informal education activities. Alongside this, you will support the Conservation Education department to implement the Zoo’s conservation strategies with a focus on education and engagement for positive change.

**The Role**:
**No day will be the same You’ll interact with a variety of visitors on any given day. Key duties will include**:

- Delivering informal education activities and presentations around the Twycross Zoo site highlighting the conservation messages to our visitors
- Responding to visitor enquiries in a professional and positive manner, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding guest experience is at the heart of what you do
- You will assist in the delivery of booked educational programmes, clubs and experiences, full training will be given to support you in creating a memorable experience for our visitors
- Production of high quality resources for conservation education activities and events, including creating a schedule of activities and obtaining resources for educational clubs and activities
- Making sure you deliver the key conservation education objectives in all areas of your work
- Supporting with the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of education activities to ensure that they contribute to the Zoo’s strategic conservation goals, adapting and making recommendations as necessary
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding
- Ensure the department leads by example by adhering to and promoting Twycross Zoo’s sustainability agenda.

**Hours**:
This is a part time, seasonal role with the following shift pattern:
**Saturday & Sunday**: 11.00-16.00

**Bank Holidays**: 11.00-16.00

**School Holidays**: Thursday to Monday 11.00-16.00

**About You**

What we are looking for:

- A zoo-related qualification at minimum of level 3 with an understanding and interest in wildlife conservation in relation to zoos
- A professional approach to all areas of your work with the flexibility to adapt as needed
- You’ll be outgoing and approachable with the confidence to talk to people and strike up conversation
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to engage a varied audience and respond to any questions
- Experience in presenting to large groups is desirable but not essential as we will help you develop in this area
- As a team, we are all responsible for delivering an outstanding guest experience so you must be willing to provide operational support to any department as requested
- You’ll have IT skills and the ability to carry out routine administrative tasks
- Flexibility in working times and duties is a key requirement as the zoo is a popular leisure attraction run by an enthusiastic and devoted team
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory DBS check
