**1. Job Title: Store Person**

**2. Department: Stores**

**3. Reports To: Logistics/Operations Director**

**4. Purpose**:
To ensure the smooth running of Glasgow Depot Stores including receiving, handling and dispatching of goods coming into or going out of the Stores, and also to conduct works in accordance with clients policies and procedures to meet client specifications.

**5. Scope**:

- Keep Depot clean/tidy/stocked and operationally organised and safe.
- Unload goods / inspect goods checking for damage etc / check against orders/POD notes.
- Accurately record booking in / out of stock.
- Place goods in storage racks/areas in organised and safe method.
- Accurately pick stock / have outgoing deliveries ready for site staff.
- Delivery where required to site/stores/Client etc.
- Responsible for compliance with H&S within Depot Stores.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurately recorded and information forwarded to Head Office.
- Customer supplied stock reports - (send weekly stock report & inform/organise re: min stock levels).
- Record Monthly Depot Stock & full VPC Stock & Customer Supply report.
- Monthly stock take - check figures against d/base - report any discrepancies.
- Monthly VPC stock take (inc all plant ser no's) - all depts / all vehicles.
- Handling / Distribution of paperwork received from Site Staff / Suppliers / Deliveries.

**6. Key Deliverables**:

- To ensure Depot is always clean/tidy/stocked and operationally organised and safe.
- To control daily stock in/out and accurate recording.
- Complete all relevant paperwork duly authorised and signed.

**7. Principle Accountabilities**:

- Accountable to the Contracts Manager / Operations Director and to conduct works in a safe, diligent manner.
- Wear personal protective equipment.
- Inspect and as appropriate fuel equipment pre-works.
- Report any equipment defects.
- Report any personal injuries.
- Conduct operations in accordance with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

**8. Principle Authorities**:

- Inspect and accept goods in/goods out and sign relevant paperwork

**9. Key Working Relationships**:
The Job Holder will:

- Work closely with Contracts Manager / Operations Director and Supervisors.
- Build and maintain relationships with the above.

**10. Key Skills/Experience Requirements**:
The Job Holder will/may have:

- Stores/Stock control experience.
- Groundworks experience.
- General Civil Engineering awareness.
- Forklift Truck Driver.
- Manual Handling.

**11. Qualification Requirements**:

- CSCS/ECS Touchscreen Test Certificate
- Forklift License - IPAF Counterbalance.
- Manual Handling Training
- Environmental Awareness Training
- COSHH Training
- Store keeping course
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- Fire Safety

**12. Personal Attributes**:

- Self-motivated.
- Be consistent and robust.
- Responsive with a “can do” approach.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Able to cope with physical demands of the job

**13. Training Requirements**:

- Following the necessary Induction and on-the-job training, it is expected that the Job Holder would have all the skills to perform the job.
- At the Induction the company’s specific policies, processes, procedures and methods will be presented.
- The job holder is expected to acquire new process skills and technical innovations and training / refresher training will be provided as appropriate as per the training plan.
- Specialist skills training may be obtained externally. This will be organised by the QHSE/Training Department.

**14. Performance Assessment**:

- Structured appraisals will be carried out annually to ensure that Key Deliverables are being achieved, at which point training/retraining requirements will be identified.
- The appraisal will be carried out by The Manager, in conjunction with the HR Manager.
- This appraisal will be carried out routinely on an annual basis, as the result of disciplinary action or where CAIA necessitates such action.
- Signification of acceptance of this appraisal will be made by the Job Holder and their line Manager.
- A date for the subsequent routine appraisal will be set.

**15. PPE Requirements**:

- High visibility clothing to BS EN 471:2003 shall be worn at all times while working on depot.
- Safety boots to EN ISO 20345:2011 to be worn at all times while working in depot.
- Hard Hat to BS EN 397 to be worn where specified or where there is potential risk of overhead injury.
- Gloves to BS EN 388 for general duties as and when required or BS EN 407 for hot work.
- Ear defenders to BS EN 352 to be worn when using items of plant as defined in Section 13 of the Employee Handbook and for any item of plant marked with a hearing protection symbol.
- Goggles to BS EN 166 to be worn during drilling / cutting operations.
- Dust masks to BS EN 149:2001 to be worn for cleaning operations e.g., brushing floor / moving debris.
- All users of any type of disposable or half-face masks require a face fit test
