Qualified Early Years Practitioner

Jigsaw Nurseries is situated in the heart of Balerno village community and we are recruiting for a full time Early Years Practitioner to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team with a passion for Forest Kindergarten and outdoor learning. If you aspire to outdoor learning we are actively involved with The National Trust and our Forest kindergarten program has been running for over 4 years. Having Forest Kindergarten training would be advantageous to join our team although training can be provided.

Working in Partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council, Jigsaw Nurseries maintain extremely high levels of education and care to meet the standards required.

You will hold the relevant qualifications SVQ3, HNC, HND or equivalent and must be able to register with the PVG scheme and the SSSC.

Knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence an understanding of Girfec, My World Outdoors, Space to Grow, Realising the Ambition and other supporting documents would be advantageous.

As an Early Years Practitioner your roles and responsibilities would be as follows
- To provide high standards of quality experiences for our children within the nursery including the environment, resources and communication.

Observe, Support and and extend children's learning through play.

Plan appropriately for our children using the Curriculum for Excellence and supporting documents.

Maintain accurate and effective children's records of learning and care.

Ensure that our children are kept safe and when necessary follow safe guarding and adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.

Be a Key Person carrying out all related responsibilities of care and build relationships with our children and their families.
