Assistant Sommelier

Job Summary:
**Responsibilities**:
- Help the head sommelier to curate the wine selection for the restaurant.
- Present wine pairings for guests who opt for the wine paired tasting menu experience.
- Provide wine recommendations to guests based on their preferences & our seasonal tasting menu.
- Maintain wine inventory & ensure proper storage conditions.
- Engage with other duties that tend to be part of every staff members day to day responsibilities.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant is essential.
- Reasonable knowledge of different types of wines & regions although with a passion to learn from the head sommelier as training will be provided.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Certification or training in sommelier studies is a plus. (IE-WSET courses).
Please note that English is a pre-requisite for this job.
Pay: £11.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
