**JOB TITLE**:PA to Head Teacher

**SALARY**:£30,000 - £32,000 PA DOE

**HOURS**:8.15am - 5.15pm Monday to Friday (full time, all year round)

**THE ROLE**:The position will suit a professional and experienced Personal Assistant who is keen and ready for their next challenge. You will be responsible for providing an organised, efficient and confidential secretarial and administrativeservice to the Head. You will be required to ensure the highest standards of accuracy in all documents produced for the Head, including receiving incoming and preparing outgoing correspondence and other documents as required.

**KEY DUTIES**:

- Effectively manage the Head Teacher's diary and complete the administration that goes with it.
- Play a leading role in the smooth running of the School.
- Collating and prioritising to do lists and ensuring a wide range of enquiries are managed and responded to in a timely manner.
- Maintaining utmost confidentiality.
- Attending daily meeting with the Head to ensure that as a team, they are well prepared for meetings and events, and that internal and external communication has been addressed.
- Receiving and prioritising incoming calls, screening as appropriate and deescalating / escalating or taking messages as required.
- Sorting, distributing and administering incoming and outgoing mail and drafting correspondence on behalf of the Head.
- Welcoming the Head's visitors and offering hospitality.
- Liaising regularly with the Leadership and Management Teams of the School and attending staff meetings as required.
- Preparing and circulating agendas and papers, taking minutes and noting actions.
- Working closely with the Admissions and Marketing teams.
- Line management responsibility for Reception and liaising as required with other Leadership Team PAs to ensure a cohesive and coordinated administrative function across the School.

**THE CANDIDATE**:

- Experience in a Personal Assistant/Secretarial role.
- Experience of working in a school would be advantageous, but is not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a friendly, cheerful disposition.
- The ability to communicate confidently with a variety of stakeholders, with an ability to deescalate potential issues.
- Good level of experience of Microsoft Office, Excel and other information systems.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Complete discretion, reliability and sound judgement.
- An ability to form good working relationships with colleagues at all levels, but happy to work alone when needed.
- The ability to solve problems, juggle and prioritise multiple issues while remaining calm and purposeful.
- Understanding of the professional expectations and commitment of working in a busy independent school.
- Capable of showing initiative, including the ability to plan ahead and work flexibly without constant direction.
