**Required experience & knowledge**:

- In the safest way’s possible Lead Production personnel to efficient and effective business outcomes
- Satisfy the requirements to manage their area of responsibility in accordance with current legislation as itemised in their Mine Regulations 2014 appointment and must be aware of all other legislation applicable to their area and any pertinent updates.
- Liaise with the line management to prioritise and deploy the appropriate resources for the safe and efficient working of their area of responsibility.
- The safety, health and welfare of all persons within their area of responsibility through inspection and supervision.
- The completion of the statutory SMSDocs 105 (M&Q Out-bye District) and 106 (M&Q In-bye District) report for his area of responsibility.
- The detecting of mine gases, their properties, where they are found, how to respond and the physiological effects on the body.
- Ensuring the ongoing compliance with, and continual improvement of, ISO 45001:2018
- Ensuring Risk Assessments are:

- Provided or accessible for each task undertaken at the mine
- Issued to persons undertaking the task(s)
- Reviewed periodically, or as circumstances dictate
- Ensuring that all ‘Safety Briefs’ are understood by all persons in their area of responsibility and gather and address any relevant feedback in a timely manner.
- Have the knowledge to Implement the underground emergency procedures.
- Ensuring that Safe Havens, and escape routes are in place and maintained in good order. Also, ensuring those persons under his charge are regularly familiarised with these routes of egress
- Monitor the standard and regulate the teams individual Safety Passport slips
- Prepare at the start of shift the deployment and working plan for their shift.
- Communicate the risks and control measures associated with the task by way of a Pre-shift.
- Produce a detailed written report of all activities undertaken on their shift in the required documentation.
- Discuss the status of his area of responsibility within the Technical Services Department.

**Required Qualifications/Certificates**:
Level 2 Skills for Life which incorporates:
- Numeracy
- Literacy
- ITQ

or evidence of GCSE equivalent/higher- IOSH Managing Safety
- Risk Assessment Training
- Effective communication skills.
- First Aid at Work
- Training in Altair gas detection monitoring.
