Support Worker

We are looking for a support worker who cares about making every moment matter for the people we support in our residential service. As part of the role, you will also prepare delicious and nutritious meals.

**Hours**:40 - 48 hour contract available, mainly covering days including weekends
**Salary**:£11.00 per hour
**About our services**
We are a small, 4-bedroom, semi-detached residential home based in Seaham Co Durham. We even have our own private road, a few minutes’ walk from the seafront. The home is in a great location as it gives the people we support, privacy and the option of walking a short distance to the seafront which has many shops, ice cream parlours, cafes and restaurants. We also have fantastic travel links and are surrounded by plenty of natural nature reserves.

You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team.
It would be advantageous to have experience of preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents.
**The role**
- To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
- Create nutritious well-balanced menus using fresh, quality and seasonal produce. The menus will meet all dietary requirements and be created in consultation with the people they support, relatives and staff.
- Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
- General housekeeping duties that can include shopping and domestic duties.
- As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
