Overseas Freight Driver

You’ll ensure all consignments arrive safely

Your role will be to deliver consignments for FCDO Services across the UK and throughout Europe, ensuring they are kept safe and secure. Working typically as part of a two-person crew, you’ll be responsible for driving a range of vehicles, including cars, vans and LGVs as well as carrying out related duties such as loading and unloading and checking oil, water and tyres. You’ll also need to maintain log books, tachographs and all other relevant documentation.

Your professionalism will be second to none

As well as holding all the relevant licences (LGV1,C+E), you must have proven experience of driving a variety of vehicles along with good knowledge of driver regulations and relevant UK & European law. It’s essential that you have no more than three penalty points and have relevant commercial European driving experience. Just as important as your driving skills, however, will be the professionalism with which you handle customers and colleagues. This means being able to treat everyone fairly and courteously and to work with customers to find solutions if their needs cannot be met. You will also need to be flexible about hours and willing to spend long periods away from home.
