**Job summary**:
The National Archives is seeking an energetic, friendly, enthusiastic and passionate person to proactively support The National Archives provide excellent service to visitors and ensure that they have a positive and memorable experience.

We have a modern 150 seat auditorium and new digitally-enabled learning spaces and podcast recording/streaming studios. This role provides the lead in technical support for all the AV systems including: projectors; sound mixing desks; cameras; and related equipment to support onsite, online and hybrid events.

The Venues team within Visitor Experience Department exists to ensure consistent levels of quality across different event types to all TNA and external audiences, to enable high levels of satisfaction for both those leading the event, and those attending.

The Venue and Audio-Visual Support Officer will manage: room bookings; Venue Hire; AV support; Event Licensing; Out of Hours and Licensed Security; systems including Eventbrite and Zoom; and working closely with support departments and contractors.

They will also support the visitor experience in other ways, such as giving tours of the exhibitions and displays, as we develop our offer for the public.

This role includes direct support of events and activities, which will require frequent but irregular working outside normal office hours (evenings and weekends).

Previous experience in an event logistics or AV technical role would be desirable, but full training will be provided.

This is an onsite role with little option for hybrid working.

- Good personal organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure, both individually and as part of a team.

- Good written and oral communication skills and experience of engaging with a variety of stakeholders and service partners at all levels.
- A ‘can do’ and flexible attitude to supporting high quality events and venue services, and responding to challenging situations effectively.
- The ability to trouble-shoot and resolve problems rapidly and effectively, working with a variety of internal and external specialists (IT, Estates, Events, Exhibitions, etc.) to deliver optimal outcomes
- Excellent administrative skills
- Excellent ICT - especially AV - skills and experience
- Experience of supporting event delivery, ideally in the cultural sector
