Casting Operative

Our client is looking for a casting support operative to join their casting department.

**Main job description**:

- Charging of the Shaft furnace, to maintain production flow.
- To unload cathode and other such consumables as required
- Operation of the Baling machine in line with standard operating procedures observing all safety features.
- Maintain stock records to ensure all data recording and feedback is completed accurately and on time.
- Ability to work on ones own initiative and within a team in order to achieve results.
- To provide additional support and or temporary replacement of a team member.
- To carry out any other such duties as may be reasonably required including support of the log saw and billet saw operation.
- When required (during problems on the casting plant) the operators will operate the ARL analyser and provide feedback to the Cast Team Leader
- The Cast Support Operator will examine scrap and sign off accordingly in the absence of Cast Team Leader
- Cast Support Operators will actively participate in the refurbishment of the filter plant when required and also its daily lime additive.
- The Cast Support Operator will process slag and copper blocks, segregate and sort. They will ensure that the copper blocks are put in when required and all waste is appropriately sorted ready for collection.

Have excellent Numeracy & literacy skills

Counterbalance FLT certification ( although not essential )

Able to work days and nights as part of shift rotation

Able to lift the legal max limit for 1 person on a regular basis

Happy to work in a very hot and dirty environment for the shift period every day.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,500.00-£32,100.00 per year
