Casual Contract (2 Days only)

Applications are invited for the post of Student Assistant in the Music Department, as part of the UKRI-funded research project Cyborg Soloists: Advancing Interdisciplinary Music in the Post-Internet Age Through New Musician-Technology Interactions, working closely with the Cyborg Soloists research team.

Cyborg Soloists explores interdisciplinary interactions between music, the other arts, and new digital technologies. The research project is hosting a Research Forum on practice-research around new technologies, and a Symposium (single conference day).

The Student Assistant is required for both of these events:

- For the Research Forum (15 June), they will be required to take minutes of the discussion throughout the day and document the Research Forum on video.
- For the Symposium (16 June), they will be required to manage registrations, take delivery and assist with the serving of food/coffee from catering

For both days, they will be required to assist with the setup and pack down for presentations and performances.

The applicant should be a postgraduate student with a degree in music or a related field. They should have experience in taking minutes, and experience in video documentation is also desirable. Experience in event management and stage setup is also desirable. Ability to work closely with the Cyborg Soloists team and be a welcoming host to visitors to the University is essential.
