As a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse with Marie Curie, you’ll be helping people in their time of greatest need. At Marie Curie, you’ll be providing specialist care and support to patients with terminal illnesses. It’s all about giving them the best possible quality of life. We’ll help you develop your skills to meet individuals’ medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.

Based in our inpatient unit within the Marie Curie Hospice, you will ensure that professional standards are reflected in our daily practice, supporting the Ward Manager in ensuring strong clinical and professional leadership and support to a dedicated team who provide high standards of specialist palliative care to patients and support for their carers.

Recent experience would be an advantage and the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment is essential. Palliative care is becoming more acute, our stakeholder’s expectations of service delivery are changing and the hospice must ensure that it is able to respond to altering requirements. Whilst it is important that you understand the needs of palliative care patients, experience from an acute setting would be a distinct advantage.
