What you’ll do

You’ll help carry out a private septic tank service to domestic and commercial customers where our drivers act as ambassadors for us with these customers. The team operates across all areas of Scotland and utilise both rigid and articulated tankers removing sludge from various Wastewater Treatment Plants and Public septic tanks.

You will ensure all work undertaken complies with all relevant Health and Safety Regulations, completing vehicle checks and inspections, liaising with fleet on aspect of vehicle maintenance, repairs, servicing, and MOT’s. You will also ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Scottish Water policies and procedures relating to sludge transportation.

What you’ll bring

We’ll get you fully up to speed on the technical bits of the job. You’ll bring strong communication skills and confidence working on your own. We are also looking for you to have the ability to ensure your work is delivered professionally, efficiently and on time, play a key role optimising Tanker usage for Scottish Water.

Can plan and prioritise your work whilst maintaining a flexible approach to accommodate changing priorities and be able to build trust and credibility with customers who you interact with, being focussed on their needs and acting as an ambassador for Scottish Water.

Ideally, we would like you to be a holder of a valid CPC card and valid Cat C license.

The not-so-small print

In this role you will work a basic 37 hour week Monday to Friday. This role is being advertised on a 1-year fixed term contract with no standby but there may a requirement for an overnight stay on occasion. Overtime can be available when required.

This role will be a Grade 3. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £25,9800. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £30,000.
