**Job Description Health and Safety Consultant/Trainer**

**Reporting to** Global Director of Operations

**Location** Tetbury, Gloucestershire

**Role purpose**: The Health and Safety Consultant/Trainer is responsible for delivering training, support and technical advice to clients and team members around Health, Safety and Occupational Hygiene issues, in an efficient manner to suit agreed time frames. The role holder will assist the Director of Global Operations with technical UK and international sales and the implementation of these sales.

- Contributing to the day-to-day manning of the office and communicating with the team and associates as appropriate.
- Attendance at networking events when and if appropriate.

- Complete Health and Safety Training on various aspects of Health and Safety depending on the type of business; anything from Risk Assessment, COSHH to Manual Handling.
- Liaison with the relevant enforcing bodies including the Environmental Health Officer, the Fire Officer and the Health and Safety Executive where required.
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, eg fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.

- Visiting clients at their sites to gather evidence in order to produce documentation and reports.
- Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
- Delivering training courses to clients at their premises as required and dealing with all necessary documentation and administration.
- Delivering open training courses as arranged by Sureteam at various locations around the UK.
- Liaison on a day-to-day basis with our clients’ appropriate departments where required to ensure procedures conform to the requirements of their current legislation including (but not limited to) the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act.
- Provide a point of call for our clients to ensure feedback on issues and concerns affecting Health and Safety are resolved in order to influence continuous improvement of all health and safety procedures.
- Conduct Health and Safety induction for all new starters as required for clients.
- Assist clients in the development of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, Risk Assessments, Audits and Inspections of their businesses.

- Assist in the completion of a schedule for all reportable accidents (including in the completion of accident investigation where required by the client).
- To be committed to and actively support the company’s existing marketing plans including introducing new clients to the company.
- Contributing to increasing the sales activity of the company.

- Working with the Director of Global Operations to ensure effective use of all resources and that a quality culture is always maintained in line with the company’s ISO standard.
- Utilising the existing CRM system daily.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum **Level 4** qualified in Health and Safety
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent
- Hands-on experience in a health and safety background
- MIIRSM or similar membership would be desirable
- Flexibility and willingness to travel, including overnight if necessary
- Full UK driving licence
- Eligibility to work in UK essential
