An exciting opportunity has arisen for a **Maintenance Person who specialises in Joinery **to join our family owned business. With 21 homes in our portfolio, Dovehaven are an established and growing care group providing residential, nursing and care homes in Southport, Liverpool, Preston, Ormskirk, Leyland and Wigan whilst also specialising in dementia care.

We have been providing this high quality care for our residents for 40 years and pride ourselves on the happy, welcoming atmosphere in all of our homes. Across all Dovehaven Care Homes, we provide a full range of care for both long term and respite periods.

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance person who specialises in Joinery. You will be assisting our onsite maintenance teams who work in our homes in Southport, Liverpool, Preston, Ormskirk and Accrington.

Your job responsibilities will include the maintenance and upkeep of offices, nursing and residential homes and other important facets of our business. Joinery experience would be a huge advantage.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks in all areas of the homes as requested by the Head of Estates.
- Understand and meet statutory and legal requirements such as Food Safety, Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety, Infection Control to ensure the maintenance of a safe environment throughout the homes.
- Carry out specific maintenance and regular safety checks (including, but not limited to - fire, alarm, extinguishers, emergency lighting, and water temperature), ensuring that all daily and weekly checks are carried out within a reasonable timescale and updating these checks accurately. Reporting any deficiencies to the Home Managers and the Head of Estates and ensuring these deficiencies are followed up and repaired/replaced.
- Always have a respectful attitude towards residents and colleagues, especially the residents individual right to privacy, dignity, and choice, incorporating residents’ needs and requirements into your work routine so that the Homes are pleasant to both work and live in.
- Liaise with the Home Manager and the Head of Estates ensuring the Home are maintained in good decorative order, making the homes environments as comfortable as possible.
- Be responsible for managing the maintenance budget for the Homes in conjunction with the Head of Estates.
- Liaise with external contractors entering the Homes when carrying out authorised work to ensure that all requirements relating to Health and Safety and the Health and Social Care Act 2008 legislation are adhered to.
- General joinery projects i.e building furniture, fitting windows and doors etc
- General plumbing projects and repairs
- Maintain the grounds and garden areas, keeping them in a neat, tidy, and safe condition.
- Attend mandatory training, and any other training deemed appropriate, as required.
- Have an understanding of the ‘Whistle Blowing’ Policy and acting accordingly should the need arise.
- Contribute to the protection of individuals from any form of abuse.
- This role requires a driver with their own vehicle as you will be travelling to various sites in the portfolio
