St Asaph, United Kingdom Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Full time

Are you a dietitian looking to develop your skills in an exciting role? Want to live and work in an outstandingly beautiful area with beaches and mountains on your doorstep? Then come and join our dynamic team based in North Wales

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Dietetics Department as a Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Dietitian. This post will give you the opportunity to specialise in both Paediatric Eating Disorders (3 days) plus Level 3 Paediatric Weight Management services (2 days), which function across Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), and to develop cutting edge Nutrition and Dietetic services for the children and young people of North Wales.

You will work as an experienced autonomous practitioner, integrated within the teams, to provide professional dietetic expertise and intervention within the weight management & eating disorder services. You will act as a resource within the department and Health Board, providing specialist information and advice regarding children living with obesity and eating disorders.

You will also provide professional supervision and advice to band 5 Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants, and Students. You will have the opportunity to plan and implement a robust quality improvement process for nutrition in both of these paediatric services.

This post would suit established or aspiring Paediatric Dietitians. All necessary support and supervision will be provided to the right individual.

The Dietitian will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of best practice for pathway priorities, in relation to the Level 3 and Eating disorder Services for children and young people across the Health Board as a whole. You will work under the direction and supervision of the Service Leads, and as an integral member of, and in partnership with multi-agency community teams.

You will also remain a key member of the dietetic team, joining an enthusiastic and friendly team of over 80 dietitians delivering services in acute and primary care, and public health. We deliver clinical placements for students, and have secretarial and assistant support.

All necessary development support and supervision will be provided to the right individual.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

You will require some flexibility around delivering evening services outside of the usual core hours.

If you relish a challenge, have a passion to help others or simply fancy a fresh start, then Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales, has all the right ingredients. The largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000, across North Wales. Join our team and get the support you need, in line with our Organisational Values and ‘Proud to Lead’ competence framework.

Enjoy being part of working with engaged leadership at all levels, and be assured we are committed to promoting equality and diversity, and are proud to welcome applicants under the “Disability Confident Employer” scheme.
